Solex 5000 onderdelen
De Solex 5000 deelt de meeste onderdelen met de 3800. Het is een beetje het zwarte schaap uit de familie. Er zijn drie versies, de Franse Solex 5000 (1971) met 19″ wielen, de Duitse Solex 5000 met 16″ wielen en de Nederlandse (1972) met 12″wielen. De 12 inch wielen omzeilden de helmplicht wetgeving van minister Westerterp en daardoor was de Solex 5000 de eerste Nederlandse snorfiets. Vandaar de koosnaam Westerterpjes.
Het stuur is geleend van de Solex Flash (1969) en het frame is ook totaal anders dan van de Solex 3800. Het blok is op wat uiterlijke verschillen wel hetzelfde als van de 3800. Je kunt zonder veel risico Solex 3800 onderdelen op de Solex 5000 bouwen.
